Busy Sloth Co (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a brand of Solve For Why Pte. Ltd., registered in Singapore. We take your privacy seriously and handle your personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We’ve kept it in plain English because legal jargon is the opposite of slowth.
What we collect
When you join our newsletter or create an account, we collect your email address and the page you signed up from. That’s it. We don’t ask for your name, phone number, or anything else unless you choose to provide it later.
We also collect basic, anonymous usage data through our analytics provider (Plausible Analytics). Plausible does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors, and does not collect personal data. It tells us things like “42 people read an essay today” — not who those people are.
How we use your data
Your email address is used to send you our weekly newsletter and occasional updates about Busy Sloth Co. We store your email in our own database (hosted on Supabase, with servers in Singapore/Asia-Pacific) so that we always have a first-party record of our community.
We also send your email to our newsletter delivery provider (Beehiiv) so they can deliver your emails reliably. Beehiiv processes your data as a data intermediary on our behalf.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site:
Supabase — database hosting. Stores your account and subscription data. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
Beehiiv — newsletter delivery. Receives your email address to send newsletters. Their privacy policy is available on their website.
Plausible Analytics — privacy-first web analytics. No cookies, no personal data collected, no cross-site tracking. Fully GDPR and PDPA compliant.
Vercel — website hosting. Serves the site content. Standard web server logs may be processed temporarily.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with anyone. We never will.
Cookies
In its current form, this site does not set any cookies. Plausible Analytics is cookieless. If this changes in the future (for example, when we introduce member login), we will update this policy and notify you.
Your rights
Under the PDPA, you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction — ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
Withdrawal — withdraw your consent for us to use your data at any time. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email, or contact us directly.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hey@busysloth.co. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter or have an account with us. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove your data within 30 days from our systems and ask our service providers to do the same.
Children
Our site and services are not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the “last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
